A Day at Hendrickson Park

Arthur J. Hendrickson Park is home to many of Valley Stream's exciting activities. The main attraction here is the famous Valley Stream Pool. It houses three pools, an adult swimming pool equipped with two diving boards and an olympic sized pool for all ages to enjoy. The "kiddie pool" is the most fun of all the pools, as it is set up as a waterpark, with buckets overflowing with water, several fountains, and a mushroom waterfall. All around the pool are luxurious lounge chairs where anyone can relax and enjoy the sun.
If swimming isn't your thing, take a walk behind the pool areas to the newly added miniature golf course. For only $4 for adults and $3 for kids and senior citizens, you can enjoy an 18-hole course with natural landscaping, streams, ponds, fountains and bridges.
If you are feeling a little more active you can walk past the mini golf course to either one of the many sports courts, such as basketball or even ping-pong, or take a walk around the whole pond and enjoy nature at it's finest. Around the pond you will see many familiar faces, as well as some wildlife. Valley Stream ducks are frequent visitors to this area of the park, and if you are lucky enough you might even be able to see some turtles as well.
